Currency: Riel is the national currency. Foreign currencies can be changed in hotels, at Airports and in banks.

Food: Rice and Fish are the basic food among Khmers. Other favorite courses are curry, soups and local delicacies with beef, pork, chicken and seafood. Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese and Western cuisines can be easily found in Phnom Penh. The coconut is popularly used.

Shopping: Gems (sapphire and ruby), jewelry (gold and silver) art items, silk and cotton, souvenirs antique can be found at the Central Market or the Tuol Tumpoung Market (or Russian Market) or in specially shops nearby.

Visa: One month visa can be obtained when arriving at Phnom Penh International Airport, Siem Reap International Airport and Poipet at the Cambodia-Thailand International border checkpoint. Passport must expire at least 6 months after the end of visit to Cambodia. Two passport photos should be provided and 20 USD for tourism visa and 25 USD for business visa. Visa extension is to be asked with Immigration Service at Ministry of Interior in Phnom Penh.

At Moc Bai – Bavet, Cambodia-Vietnam border and at Cambodia-Laos border : visas obtained from Cambodian Embassy or Consulate needed to be stamped .
Visas are also issued at Royal Cambodia embassies or consulates in foreign countries.
